As technology continues to reshape various industries, including the fashion world, the consumer is eagerly anticipating more high-tech and fashion-forward items to hit the market in 2016. In 2015, we saw the market welcome mobile tech accessories such as wearables, which were arguably the highlight of this year’s Consumer Electronic Show (CES) earlier this month.
The latest innovations in fashionable technology means that tech giants are now working on their own smart fashion items, one of which is Samsung’s latest product, the newly launched Smart Suit.
In a report by Pete Pachal on Mashable, the suit comes with smart cuffs that are able to relay messages and notifications from its paired handset. It eliminates the need to carry a business card during an event, as people just need to hover their handset over the person’s suit cuff and get their contact details instantly. This is the first move by Samsung to produce a fashion-forward item ready to take the market by storm.
Today, smart jewelries in the form of necklaces and rings are already available on the market. But, given their hefty price tags with little to no tech innovation (they are mostly just health sensors), people have tended to opt for smartwatches instead.
Here are some of the top smart jewelries available today:
2. Bellabeat LEAF
3. Misfit Swarovski Shine
5. Arc Pendant
The dependency people now have on their smartphones has led mobile data to surpass actual computing devices for the first time ever, including the once prominent desktop computer. According to Gaming Realms, the creators of mobile gaming site Pocketfruity, mobile data takes up more than 50% of the overall tech data consumed on a daily basis. Since many wearables are also dependent on smartphones, it is expected to surpass this figure in the coming years and dominate the market further.
Industry experts are also forecasting that wearables and fashion-tech items will continue to see growth in the next 12 months, as demand will extend into the workplace as well as in mature markets where mobile payment systems have been embraced.
With the continued dependency on technology, particularly on mobile devices, the fashion world will find more innovative ways to maximize its potential in producing the most revolutionary and fashion-forward items. How do you foresee the future of tech fashion?
